Why MEWPs Need Outrigger Pads
MEWPs deploy outriggers before the platform can be raised. Even smaller machines generate significant point loads through their outrigger feet — on soft ground, tarmac, or finished surfaces that concentrated load can cause sinking, surface damage, and machine instability.
An outrigger pad spreads that load over a larger area. It protects the surface, keeps the machine level, and reduces damage claims from site operators.

Scissorlifts
Pads for Scissorlift Stabilisers
Scissorlifts have small outrigger feet that concentrate load on a tiny area. Pads prevent sinking on soft ground and protect finished surfaces — essential on car parks, pavements, and indoor floors.
- 300–400mm pads for compact scissorlifts
- 400–500mm for larger rough terrain models
- 30–40mm thickness covers most scissorlift loads
Cherry Pickers & Boom Lifts
Pads for Cherry Picker Outriggers
Boom-type cherry pickers generate higher outrigger loads than scissorlifts due to the cantilever effect of the extended boom. Pads need to handle heavier loads and larger outrigger feet.
- 400–500mm pads for truck-mounted cherry pickers
- 500–600mm for larger boom models
- 40–60mm thickness recommended
